Obama's Fake News

There has been a big controversy in the media lately over "fake news." Some pundits have blamed Hillary Clinton's loss on social media and "fake news." But the so-called "mainstream media" have completely lost the public's trust and respect. So it is not surprising that people are turning to alternative media outlets.

That's just one reason why so many of you appreciate our daily reports and support our work. You are sick of big media's bias and you trust us to report the truth!

Earlier this week, President Obama delivered some fake news of his own. Speaking to troops at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, Obama made this jaw-dropping claim: "No foreign terrorist organization has successfully planned and executed an attack on our homeland."

What Obama said is at best manipulated news. Obama may be technically correct in that there has not been another 9/11-style mass attack. But our homeland has been repeatedly attacked -- Fort Hood, Chattanooga, Little Rock, Boston, San Bernardino, Orlando, Columbus, etc.

After virtually every attack, officials have dumbed down the definition of Islamic terrorism. They struggle to determine motives even after the jihadist motivations are obvious. Then they tell us it was just a lone wolf.

That is not at all reassuring. It is more disturbing that Islamic supremacists are gaining recruits without having direct interactions with them. It implies that some untold number of Muslims are merely ticking time bombs.

Add to this bizarre statement something else Obama and his supporters have said lately -- that there have been no major scandal during his administration. To which I can only say, "OMG!" The most charitable explanation for such a claim is that no one has gone to jail as a result of the scandals.

But what about Benghazi?

Fast and Furious?

The IRS scandal?

The VA scandal?

Solyndra?

The Obamacare website?

Hillary's email scandal that jeopardized national security secrets? The list goes on.

Media Manipulation

No doubt you will recall that during Hillary Clinton's tenure at the State Department, individuals and foreign governments with business before the department were giving tens of millions to the Clinton Foundation. The media generally shrugged it off, saying, "Well, it doesn't look good, but there's no evidence of a quid pro quo."

That same media are now suggesting that the Trump Hotel in Washington represents a huge ethics problem and conflict of interest for the future Trump Administration. So the Saudis didn't get anything for the $25 million they gave to Bill and Hillary, but someone spending $25,000 at the Trump Hotel is going to run away with the U.S. treasury.

Do reporters ever think about how obvious and odious their double standard is?

Here's something else to think about. As you know, the stars of the hit HGTV show "Fixer Upper" have come under fire lately from radical leftists. Chip and Joanna Gaines are under attack not for anything they did, but for what their pastor believes. It seems a journalist jihad is underway to expose anyone who may still believe in traditional biblical values.

But it seems to me that if the left-wing media are really worried about someone's personal beliefs and their place of worship, a much bigger target might be Rep. Keith Ellison, the leading contender for chairman of the Democratic National Committee. The mosque Ellison attends is led by an imam who has been very clear about Islam's view on homosexuality.

Why aren't progressive journalists asking if Ellison's mosque disqualifies him from being chairman of the Democrat Party?

The Trump Boom

Remember all the gloom and doom predictions of what would happen if England voted for Brexit -- to leave the European Union? None of it happened.

Remember all the gloom and doom predictions of what would happen if Donald Trump won the election? None of it happened. In fact, the stock market is booming, shattering records, up more than 1,200 points since Trump's election. Contrary to the pundits, the "smart money" seems to be betting big league on big things to come.

Yesterday, the CEO of U.S. Steel, Mario Longhi, said his industry was poised to bring back 10,000 jobs. Longhi said, "I would be more than happy to bring back the employees that we were forced to lay off during the depression," but he needed to see big changes first.

He added that tax reform and regulatory reform would be a "significant driver to what we're going to do." Longhi complained that in recent years he was hiring more lawyers than engineers in order to interpret all of Obama's regulations, many of which Trump is vowing to rollback.

By the way, as conservatives often say, "Personnel is policy." To enact major reforms, you need great reformers in key positions -- leaders like Sen. Jeff Sessions at Justice, Gen. John Kelly at Homeland Security, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt at EPA and my friend Andy Puzder as secretary of Labor.
