Call To Prayer

Great news, my friends! I just got back from the Oval Office. I was there with approximately two dozen faith leaders. It was a multi-racial group of leaders, many of whom represent large churches and denominations with millions of worshippers.

We were there to witness President Trump sign a proclamation declaring this Sunday a National Day of Prayer, not only for the victims of Hurricane Harvey but for the healing of the country's divisions. Watch this brief video. I was honored to make a few remarks (around the 5:20 mark).

The president was the same genuine man I have seen over and over again. He expressed his love for America, as well as his tremendous respect for our nation's religious heritage. In our Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers declared that our liberty comes from God and that we are reliant upon Him.

I don't know how the media will report this meeting. But I do know that whatever the media say, the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus knows that the president of the United States has asked the people of the United States to pray for the restoration and healing of our land. Ultimately that is all that matters.

Honoring Our Heroes

President Trump tweeted out a picture yesterday of a group of Fort Worth, Texas, police officers huddled together in prayer. One hundred of them were heading to Houston to assist with recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey. You can see it here.

Accompanying the picture, the president wrote: "Thank you to all of the brave first responders and volunteers from around the United States helping with the ongoing rescue and relief efforts in Texas."

As the saying goes, "A picture says a thousand words." And there was a lot packed into that one photo. It showed two major pillars of strong, stable societies -- faith and the men and women of the Thin Blue Line who risk their lives every day to protect the innocent.

By the way, the White House announced yesterday that President Trump was personally donating $1 million to the recovery effort.

The Left vs. Reality

There is another iconic picture from the Harvey rescue. Columnist Ben Shapiro aptly noted that this photo exposes the lies the left has been preaching for the past several decades.

It is a photo of a white man in a baseball cap -- the stereotypical Red Neck -- carrying an Asian woman, who is holding a sleeping baby. Shapiro wrote: "This is the vision of humanity that carries us through our darkest trials: men as protectors, women as guardians, children as innocents. And yet our society has devoted itself wholesale to the destruction of this image."

That is a powerful commentary.

Feminists everywhere must be seething. I can hear the cries at Planned Parenthood and NOW, "She doesn't need that man to carry her, especially not if she had aborted that baby!"

There are real differences between men and women. It is foolish to try to deny them or believe we can be something we are not. Mothers and fathers matter. Families matter. Faith matters.

The left increasingly rejects every foundation of society. It talks of "fundamental transformation." It seeks to tear down what it calls the "symbols of oppression" -- be they statues or accepted societal norms.

But what is the left offering in return? What will it build to replace all that we have known?

Comey's Cover-up

Newly uncovered emails appear to confirm what many Americans feared all along: The FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's mishandling of our national security secrets was a complete scam.

In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Senators Charles Grassley (R-IA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) reveal that FBI officials told congressional investigators that James Comey began drafting his statement exonerating Hillary Clinton well before she was interviewed.

In fact, the timeline suggests that Comey decided to clear Clinton before FBI agents had even interviewed 16 key witnesses!

"Conclusion first, fact-gathering second -- that's no way to run an investigation. The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy," Grassley and Graham wrote.

No doubt you will recall that there was considerable consternation within the FBI over Comey's handling of the Clinton investigation. Well, now we know why. It looks like it was a cover-up, not a real investigation.

This revelation is raising questions about the veracity of Comey's Senate testimony. After all, he blamed Loretta Lynch's tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton for his decision to go public in order to "protect the credibility of the investigation."

But if the outcome was predetermined, then the investigation never had any credibility to protect!

Every member of Congress should be issuing press releases about this Comey/Clinton scandal. This story cannot be allowed to die over the holiday weekend.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions should appoint a special prosecutor to investigate James Comey, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the Obama-era Justice Department.
